Difference Between Our
Qualified Team Members
Caregiver
Our Caregivers have done a course within a nursing home setting & have written an exam qualifying them as a caregiver. They are not registered with the South African Nursing Council, but with the Department of Health. Medical aids do not pay for this care.
Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary
Enrolled Nursing Auxiliaries (ENA) have done a year’s course within a hospital setting. They have written an exam to receive a diploma & are registered with the South African Nursing Council. Most Medical aids will pay for this level of care, depending on the condition of the patient & a doctor’s referral note together with the ICD 10 code (a diagnostic code).
Enrolled Nursing
Our Enrolled Nursing (EN) have done a minimum of 2 years training within a hospital setting. They have written an exam & have a diploma. Most medical aids will pay for this care depending on the condition of the patient and a doctor’s motivation letter together with the ICD 10 code (diagnostic code). Please note that very few medical aids pay for frail care, although there are some that do. It would be advisable that you check with your medical aid first.
